The purpose of the Senior Room Leader role is to ensure that children in your care receive high-quality physical, personal, emotional, social, and intellectual care. As a Senior Room Leader, you’ll provide support to your team members in your assigned room, creating a nurturing environment where children can play, learn, and grow. You will be instrumental in promoting and implementing Kindercare’s policies and procedures, ensuring they are upheld in every aspect of your work. This role is essential for fostering a collaborative and enriching atmosphere for both children and staff.
Essential Qualifications & Requirements
- QQI Level 5 qualification in Early Childhood Care & Education (or equivalent), demonstrating expertise in child development and care.
- Garda Vetting clearance to ensure a safe environment for children.
- Valid certifications in First Aid, Manual Handling, Children First, and Fire Safety, or a commitment to obtaining these certifications as part of the role.
- Two professional references showcasing reliability and competence.
Experience:
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in an early years’ setting, highlighting hands-on expertise in childcare.
- Supervisory experience within a childcare setting, showcasing the ability to manage and guide a team effectively. Key Skills & Attributes

- Patience and willingness to train, support, and mentor other staff members effectively.
- Passion for child development and play-based learning.

Pay: €17.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
