Plant Operative – Civils (Rail Sector), Muskerry tree care, Cork, €28 ph

Role Overview:

We are seeking a reliable and hard-working Plant Operative to join our civils team on rail infrastructure projects across Cork. The role involves Excavator Driver as well as supporting civil engineering works including groundwork, site prep, ducting, concrete works, and trackside safety. This is a hands-on role suitable for someone with experience in a safety-critical environment and a strong work ethic.

Key Responsibilities:

• Excavator Driver.
• Assist with excavation, ducting, drainage, and concrete works.
• Operate plant and equipment under direction where required.
• Manual handling of materials and setting up work areas.
• Support the installation of trackside infrastructure.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards and site protocols.
• Report any hazards, incidents, or near misses promptly.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors.
• Carry out site housekeeping and waste management duties.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Solas 360 Operator Ticket (mandatory).
• Valid Safe Pass (mandatory).
• Manual Handling certification (mandatory).
• Previous experience on civils or rail projects (preferred).
• PTS (Personal Track Safety) certification (advantageous, training can be provided).

• Reliable and punctual with a good work ethic.
• Flexible regarding work hours, including weekends or nights.

Desirable (but not essential):

• Experience working on Irish Rail or similar infrastructure projects.
• Traffic Management certification.
• First Aid qualification.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: €24.00-€28.00 per hour

• Monday to Friday
• Night shift
• Weekend availability
